If we don't change the direction we're going, we're likely to end up where we're headed.
When God created the Earth, He made it so perfectly that sometimes we just stare at it in awe of nature's greatest wonders. God gave the Earth to Adam and Eve. He also gave them the responsibility of taking care of the Earth. Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden after their mistake of disobeying God. But even outside of the garden, God stayed with them.
The Earth is the second best gift God has ever given us (the first being his son, Jesus). And taking care of the Earth is a very important task.
In the book of Genesis, sometime after God created the Earth, the only good man left was Noah. So God destroyed the Earth with a huge flood and said He would never again destroy the Earth with water . . .
That is why a lot of Christians are not concerned about global warming. They think, The polar ice caps are not going to melt. God said he wouldn't destroy the Earth with water again. And isn't God in charge of everything?
There are two problems with this statement. (1) Yes, God did say He wouldn't destroy the Earth with a flood again, but that doesn't mean that if a world-wide flood did occur because of global warming, that it would be His fault. (2) Yes, God is in charge of everything, but that doesn't mean He's going to fix everything that goes wrong. Especially if it's our fault. He told us to protect the Earth---are we doing that?
Imagine this; you just got the most awesome gift, the thing you wanted most in the whole world. It's so unique too, you will never find another "thing" like it anywhere.
Do you keep it sacred, protect it, and cherish it? Do you do everything in your power to keep it brand new? With out even a scratch?
Or do you get bored with it after a while? You love it for the first while, but eventually, it starts to lose its value. And you end up forgetting its even there.
How do you think that would make the giver feel?
The latter of the two options is exactly how most of us treat the Earth. This is a gift God gave us. How do you think it makes Him feel when we trash it?
Can we correct our parents' mistakes? If we don't, our children will never forgive us.
Can we change the direction of the fate of the Earth?
Do we love God enough to step out of our comfort zone and make a difference?

Such wisdom, and so articulate! It's obvious you care very much about this. Keep it up, and don't get discouraged. Sometimes you'll be the only one doing what's right, but it's still very much worth it. : )
You're so right! I guess I hadn't thought of it that way. Your posts are awesome, and they really make people (me) think about things differently.
